Welcome to a New School Year and New Officers

Garfield PTA is very excited to start the 2009-2010 school year!

We have several new officers!

• Wendi Janssen ~ Secretary

With your support, Garfield PTA has been able to provide support to not only the students but also the staff members.

Here is a brief list of ways Garfield PTA has been able to make an impact:

1. We purchased t-shirts for ALL students and teachers (K-5)
2. We purchased yearbooks for ALL students and Staff members
3. We provide Goody Bags for Parent/Teacher Conferences
4. We have helped supply the lounge with much needed supplies
5. We allot money for every Certified Staff Member (again to help with extra costs)
6. We have funded field trips
7. We helped purchase the playground equipment and flooring

These are just a few things we have been able to accomplish with your help and support!

Our meetings are always the First Thursday of Every Month at 7:00pm. We look forward to seeing you at the September meeting on the 3rd.

Garfield Block Party Rescheduled

Due to weather, our Backyard BBQ has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 2nd. If you have already purchased tickets, please hold on to them and we will honor them on the 2nd.

***Applebee's Bar and Grill has donated the hamburgers and Tyson has donated the hot dogs.

Garfield Block Party!

Garfield PTA will be having a Block Party on September 11th, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

We will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs, a side and a drink. The cost will be $5.00 for Adults, $3.00 for kids and Children 2 and under are Free.

Look for pre-sale tickets to be coming home in your child's backpack. Please send the money you collect back to school by Friday, September 5th. Also, please send any UNSOLD tickets back by Friday the 5th too.

We will also be selling tickets the night of the dinner.

New Officers for a New Year

The Garfield Elementary school year for 2008-2009 is just around the corner. Enrollment for Garfield is August 5th, 12:00pm - 7:00pm. Garfield PTA will have a table set up at enrollment. Dues are $3.00.
